AOTO Board Member Anita DeFrantz helps Kirsty Coventry’s election as International Olympic Committee (IOC) President.


DeFrantz, a 1976 U.S. Olympic bronze medalist in rowing, helped Zimbabwe’s Kirsty Coventry, the second woman to run for IOC president. DeFrantz was the first in 2001. The election was held at the 144th Session of the International Olympic Committee in Greece.
DeFrantz is a member of Art of the Olympians (AOTO) Board. AOTO’ supports the mission of The Al Oerter Foundation (AOF), a non-profit organization established to honor the values, character, principles and ideals of late 4-time Olympian Al Oerter.
AOF/AOTO brings together athletes from the Olympics, Paralympics and the sporting world. Through the athletes’ creative talents, AOF/AOTO provides programs of art, education, sports and cultural outreach to inspire individuals and communities to uphold the virtues of excellence above winning.
